It's funny (not funny) that bosses always seem to overlook the most important employee in the office. Every workplace has a cornerstone employee who's literally holding down the entire company, skating by on a meager salary, minimal praise, and stale break room coffee. Somehow business owners are blind to the hard work that's required to keep their silly little business afloat, but even more surprising is the number of employees who are willing to sit back, work their tushies off, and let another guy profit from their drudgery.
Well, this irreplaceable employee decided they were done with it.
After requesting a pathetically low raise, a scant $1/hour salary increase, this employee thought they'd be a shoo-in to earn an extra $2,500 annually. Since they were the only employee worth their salt in the company, they figured it was a no-brainer for his boss to approve the pay increase–but they were wrong.
Keep scrolling to read how this hardworking employee used their jilted past to fuel a resignation fire that would burn down the entire company, taking this lazybones, absentee boss with it–as well as $7k of profits in the first week of their absence.
